Have you ever been to a wedding when you suddenly look up and the cake has already been cut? Sometimes this is done by design, but most of the time, that is because of poor MC techniques. There are some other fun ways you can spice up a cake cutting.
One way you can do your cake cutting is to have it be in the center of your dancefloor. An announcement is made to get all your guests attention, and all focus will be on the cake on the floor and the happy couple. You will have a moment with your new spouse with everyone able to be a part of it.
Another very fun option is for your guests to play a part in the ceremony. In this case, the cake would be on the dancefloor with the happy couple. Each of you would cut your slice, and after that we would have some audience participation. We would have your guests determine who feeds whom first by round of applause. This also gives us a chance to feed off your crowd and have some fun with them.
Finally, song choice matters for the mood of the cake cutting. There are tons of songs that can be used as a background song for your cake cutting. Some common ones include Sugar by Maroon 5, How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You by James Taylor, and Recipe for Love by Harry Connick Jr. Some other fun options we have seen include Be Our Guest from Beauty and the Beast, Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leapord, and Cake By the Ocean by DNCE.
